Engraving or printing?

Need a fully black logo?
Let’s look at UV printing.

Laser engraving works with the material’s surface; the result depends on the metal, coating, and settings. It is not the same as adding opaque black ink.

For a fully black graphic on aluminum, a metal business card, or another approved object, we usually recommend UV printing. It is also the route to review for full-color artwork. Send the item and finish requirements so we can recommend the right process.

Can you engrave items we already own?

Yes, we review client-supplied items. Send photos, a product link if available, material and finish details, overall dimensions, and the intended engraving placement. Wait for us to confirm the item and delivery location before shipping. Let us know whether a spare item is available for testing.

How much does custom laser engraving cost?

PrintAWorld’s laser engraving setup fee is $75, plus per-piece production. Approximate production ranges are $10–$25 per piece for small items, $45–$65 per piece for medium items, and $100+ per piece for large items. Item size, engraving size, material, complexity, quantity, and rush requirements determine the quote. These are budget ranges, not fixed size categories or an hourly rate.

How long does laser engraving take?

Standard engraving lead time is 2–3 weeks. Some suitable projects can be completed as fast as next day or within a week, depending on scope, availability, and how quickly items reach us. Rush work is confirmed project by project. Include transit time when planning your in-hand date.

What artwork should we send?

Send your vector artwork when available, or the image or reference you have. Include the desired engraving width and height, placement on the item, quantity, and any changing names or designs. We will identify any artwork preparation needed when reviewing the quote.
