PrintAWorld provides 3D scanning in New York for objects, sculptures, prototypes, props, parts, and some people-focused creative projects. The team captures visible surface geometry and delivers STL or OBJ mesh files for archiving, modeling reference, reproduction, or production preparation. Projects start at $250; cleanup, editable CAD reconstruction, and 3D printing are separate unless quoted. Approved projects can use appointment-based New York handoff or nationwide U.S. shipping. Certified dimensional inspection and metrology are not offered.

One of the most popular use cases that we get from our clients are hand-made furnitures that they want replicated or applied with a finishing such as metal. With 3D scanning, we can capture every detail of the furniture, including the correct measurements and the intricate designs that these furnitures usually have. To get it faithful to the original work, we include post-processing such as cleanup and a bit of 3D sculpturing with the guidance of our clients.

Can 3D scanning support reverse-engineering reference?

We often get clients who are looking to fabricate a part or product that a manufacturer have since discontinued. Building the 3d model for these parts from scratch takes enormous amount of time and resources --- from getting the right measurements to making sure that the mechanism works.
